Our fragrance soaps are scented with
various combinations of fragrances. Some are scent combinations
of essential oils or natural oils with synthetic fragrances, and
others are combinations of derived fragrance oils into synthetically
formulated fragrances.
Most fragrance oils are
based on, or derived from, the essential oil they represent. Because
of the production costs and/or the availability of certain essential
oils, it sometimes becomes desirable to extend an essential oil
with solvents or distilled spirits, to stretch or magnify its
effect in a soap, or to combine an essential oil with synthetic
oils or fragrances, to produce "fragrance oils." If
essential oils or natural oils cannot be used at all, fragrances
are sometimes achieved using entirely synthetic formulations to
closely approximate the original essential oil.
We strive to provide our customers with an all-natural soap product
containing only genuine essential oils as often as possible. However,
in response to customer queries for particular scents, we have
also developed many fragrance-scented soaps that could not be
achieved with only organic, natural scenting ingredients.
Since these formulas are usually commercially patented, we are
often unable to obtain complete proprietary information on their
contents. In the interests of providing our customers with consumer
disclosure, however, we have listed the contents or ingredients
of every fragrance here to the fullest possible extent.
It is worth noting, for
those concerned about using chemical or synthetic products, that
the amount of fragrance oil required to scent a batch of soap
is generally far less than the amount of essential oil required
to achieve the same level of scent. This speaks to both the strength
of synthetics, for better or for worse, and to the fact that there
is less of it to be encountered, per bar of soap.
We have to admit, some
of these fragrances are quite dynamic; we leave it to you to decide
upon your individual preferences.
